The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch: Amazon.co.uk: Armitage, Ronda ...

Today we are going to be asking and answering some questions about The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We call this exercise comprehension.
To comprehend means to show you understand something. When we answer questions it shows we understand the story.

Watch the story again and answer these questions.
For question 4 you can just write down the word next to it's meaning.
For questions 5 and 6 you can write your answer in full sentences. That's when we use part of the question in our answer.

For example:
One reason why Mrs Grinling puts Hamish in the basket is ...
The words tell us that Hamish felt...

Can you think of three questions to ask Hamish? Write them down and remember to put question marks at the end of sentences that are questions.

Maths

We are learning fractions! Fractions are parts of a whole. We can use numbers to show how many parts of a whole we have. One third is equal to one part out of three equal parts.

1.

You can use paper strips to help you work it out!

Special Task

Magic Milk Experiment

Do the experiment below and see what happens! Send me some pictures of what your patterns look like.

P.S. Make sure you use full fat milk.
